The Museum
The Museum of Visual Materials in Sioux Falls, South Dakota is one of the oldest buildings in town and one of the greenest buildings in the state. We are proud to be registered as South Dakota's first LEED platinum certified green building. We are a privately owned museum that is reaching out to the community to bring you a museum unlike anything you'd expect.

The MoVM provides activities, events, tours, and hands-on displays (plus an eccentric collection of books). Enjoy music? Listen to some our 1000+ vinyl records in our Music Room.

Where does all of this come from? One lady's house! The building contains the collections of the Faithe family. The items were not to be sold on a rummage sale, so everything was donated to the museum for the community to enjoy. Where else would you be able to find a collection of over 80,000 sewing buttons?
