Qualifications for The Local Best
Q. How does a business qualify as one of The Local Best?
Only the top 5 nominees in a category are awarded the title of "The Local Best". Winners must also be in the top 20% of the total nominees in their category. Therefore, if a category has less than 25 nominees that receive votes, there will be less than 5 winners. In a nutshell, the winners simply have more happy customers than their competitors. Remember, people are recalling businesses by name when voting (there is no multiple choice), so these businesses had to be memorable in order to receive votes.
Q. Why do some categories have 1 or 2 winners while others have 3, 4 or 5?
We want to help you narrow your choices to only the best options. If there are a lot of options in a certain category (25 or more), we'll give you a handful of choices (up to 5). If there are less options we show you less choices. It's a pretty simple, yet powerful concept.
Q. Can I advertise my business on TheLocalBest.com?
Only if you are one of the winners in our annual survey. If so, we will contact you regarding this opportunity.
Q. Do the winners have to pay in order to be listed?
No. All winners are listed on the website and in our directory free of charge. We do offer additional advertising and promotional opportunities to the winners after our annual survey is closed and final results are tallied.
Q. How do you fund your research?
After our annual survey is closed and final results are tallied, we offer advertising and promotional opportunities to the winners. Many of the winners see the value in coming together to get the word out to all of you. It's a win-win situation ... you get valuable information about the best places in the area are and they get to tell you more about themselves.
